Hi there!
Some might recognize me from GOS where I like to spam the picture threads and post shitloads of T-shirts and most of you probably never heard of me before. But here I am! I mostly got this account to post some of my creations and whore out my pretty little simmies.
I'm completely new to this dreamwidth thing but feel free to drop me a line if you want to.
xoxo MissTiikeri

Date: 2010-08-06 06:43 pm (UTC)I love your taste in T-shirts, and I'm trying to make some for my secret santee... do you mind if I ask you for tips?

Date: 2010-08-06 08:51 pm (UTC)Sure, is it for males or females? I use Aikea-guinea's basic male tee's for the texture. Then I use Bosie's hair recoloring method to change the colors to my liking. As for motifs; some are real T-shirts that I found on different sites and others(Like the Alice ones) are simple black on white pictures found through Google. When transferring them to the the shirt texture I use the background eraser to delete as much of the background color on the motif as possible. Just think about if you choose a picture with colors on a colored background, it's much easier to make the shirt texture as close to the background color as possible.
This is the basic method I use and I'm sure there are other, better ways to do it, but this works well for me. If I didn't make any sense, or if you have a more specific question, run into a problem or anything the like, let me know! I gladly help you out if needed.

Date: 2010-08-07 04:52 am (UTC)Thanks for the tip on the background eraser! I'll definitely use that. And Bosie's hair recoloring tutorial is awesome; I'd forgotten about it completely, but it's really helpful. :D I also have plenty of color actions from Aelia and Pooklet, so if all else fails, I can just apply a couple of them to Aikea's texture and blend them until I approximate the background color I want. xD
By the way, I really love the sims you post in the photographs section. I don't know how you make them so pretty, I don't have the patience to fiddle around in Body Shop, but I like them!

Date: 2010-08-07 08:12 am (UTC)You're welcome! ;D I use that tutorial when adding patterns to clothes as well, works wonderfully. I never tried actions, but I'm sure you could get the desired color that way to, especially with Aelia's new color actions(No idea how she managed to make so many, I would go nuts after making 20 of them!). Oh, I forgot to add, I usually change the opacity on the motif to around 85-90, depending on the contrast. Makes it blend in better with the texture. ;) Do let me know if you run into any problems and I'll try to help out the best I can.
Aww, thank you! It does take some time to do them, especially the ones I already have a clear vision of in my head. But as long as I like the end result, it's so worth it! I really want to learn how to edit faces in milkshape, but I can't seem to find a good tutorial on it. :/ BTW, love your icon! xD
